CEO: ALROSA not to suspend production, cut staff on sanctions

MOSCOW, May 27 (PRIME) -- Russian diamond producer ALROSA has no plans to suspend production and lay off personnel because of sanctions, CEO Sergei Ivanov said in a video released by the republic of Yakutia’s government on Friday.

“We do not intend to suspend our production works. We see no prerequisites today to start dismissals or tighten belts,” Ivanov said.

He added that sanctions have hit all participants of the diamond industry.

“As for certain problems of ALROSA, we have faced some difficulties. But we have an understanding of how to solve these issues,” he added.
